Kursinhalt

Politische Bildung versteht sich als Teil des Bildungsangebotes unserer Schule, da Jugendliche seit 2007 bereits ab 16 Jahren wählen dürfen. Erklärtes Ziel ist es dabei, den Schülerinnen und Schülern aktive Partizipation näherzubringen, ihr Interesse am breiten Feld der Politik zu fördern und weiterzuentwickeln. Die Lernkurve soll sich dabei an der Abbildung oben orientieren.

Political Education is offered at our school, as the voting age in Austria was lowered to 16 in 2007. In order to get students ready to vote for themselves and develop their interest in Austrian politics, the class encourages and trains active political participation. The learning curve can be compared to the participation pyramid above.

Erwartungen und Ziele

Zentrales Anliegen ist der gemeinsame Austausch und die Förderung einer aktiven und Argumente-basierten Diskussionskultur, die eine dafür notwendige regelmäßige und breit aufgestellte Informationsbeschaffung anregen soll.

Durch eigene Recherchetätigkeiten werden auch die Medienkompetenz und die Fähigkeit der Quellenkritik geschult.

In a nutshell, political education encourages the exchange of ideas with the help of discussions and debates, and the students simultaneously develop their medial and source interpretation competences in this course.

A mix of panel discussions and guest speakers, as well as workshops at school or field trips, at times even their own radio show provide a healthy and diverse selection of methods to give the students their voice and to coach them to prepare themselves for eventually going to the ballots.
